Hi Reader!
By the time this lands in your inbox, I’ll be at FinCon in Palm Springs.
And if you are not here this year, I’m going to say this as your podcast strategy friend:
You should seriously consider coming with me next year.
FinCon is one of the best rooms for financial professionals who create content for their business. It is where money, media, creators, advisors, coaches, fintechs, brands, podcasters, YouTubers, writers, and service providers all collide in the best possible way.
If you have a podcast, want a podcast, guest on podcasts, write a newsletter, publish on YouTube, or use content to build trust with your audience, this is the kind of event that can change how you think about your visibility.
And yes, plenty of my past, current, and future clients are here this year.
FinCon 2027 details and tickets should be announced soon, and I’ll share them as soon as I see them.
Keep an eye on finconexpo.com, because I really do want you in the room next year.
Are You Too Quick To Judge?
Here’s the industry update I think financial professionals should pay attention to this week.
Magellan AI released its Q2 2026 Podcast Measurement Benchmark Report, and one stat stood out to me immediately:
Only 41% of site visits happened in the first week after a podcast ad, while 76% happened by the end of the first month.
That means if you are testing podcast ads and judging performance after one week, you may be cutting the data off far too early.
But wait - This matters even if you are not running podcast ads yet!
Podcasting is rarely a “they heard one thing and immediately booked a call” channel. It works through familiarity, repetition, trust, and timing. Whether you are paying for ads, guesting on other shows, or publishing your own episodes, give the strategy enough room to work before you decide whether it is worth it.
📸 YouTube Vs. Instagram For Financial Advisors
Did you notice the bonus episode on Monday?
I released YouTube Vs. Instagram For Financial Advisors: Where Should You Create Content First? with Danica Cicmil.
This conversation is all about choosing the right platform for your strengths, your audience, and your business goals instead of forcing yourself to be everywhere.

Instagram can be powerful, but it often requires more creativity, entertainment, consistency, and visual experimentation. YouTube, podcasting, and guesting can be better fits when your strength is explaining, educating, or building trust through deeper content.
If you are a financial professional trying to decide where your content energy should go first, start here.
How Dr. Sev Uses Podcasting To Grow Her Financial Education Business
Today’s regular episode features Dr. Sev, who uses podcasting to support her financial education business, workshops, group coaching, and broader content ecosystem.
What I appreciate about Dr. Sev’s strategy is that her podcast is not treated like a random content project. It is connected to the rest of her business through workshops, email signups, media links, subtle visibility inside presentations, and resources that help listeners move closer when they are ready.

If you want to see how a financial educator can use podcasting as part of a larger trust-building and conversion strategy, this is a strong episode to study.

She also gave a realistic view of consistency. Missing a week here and there is not the end of the world, but disappearing for months can make it harder for listeners to stay connected.
What's the Point?
Give Your Content Strategy Time And Direction
Between FinCon, the podcast ad benchmark report, and this week’s two episodes, take this and put it in your pocket:
Content works best when it is connected to a strategy.
A conference can create the right relationships and a podcast ad can create visibility, but the results (in both cases) need enough time to appear.
Your platform choice matters because YouTube, Instagram, podcasting, and guesting each ask something different from you.
Plus, a podcast works best when it is not floating by itself, but connected to your offers, email list, events, workshops, referral conversations, and long-term business goals.
❌ Not more content for the sake of more content (please, NO.)
✅ Better-connected content that has a job to do. (ah, a breath of fresh air!)
THIS is where strategy is EVERYTHING. What will you be strategic about next week?
Cheers 🥂
