Hi Reader!
I'm feeling behind...almost anxious, like there's SO much I should have already checked off the list. Can you tell?
I did not send a newsletter last week, and I’ll be honest: I felt terrible about it.
Did you miss me? Nah, you probably didn't even notice!
Here's what I want you to absorb: Most people do not notice our minor inconsistencies nearly as much as we do. Your audience is not sitting there with a clipboard tracking whether you missed one newsletter, skipped one social post, or delayed one podcast episode!
They notice when you disappear long enough that they start wondering:
“Wait… what happened to them?”
“Are they still doing this?”
“Are they still in business?”
That distinction matters.
Consistency is important, but perfection is not the goal.
And right now? It’s full-blown May-cember over here 😅 We’ve got:
• final performances
• graduation walks
• finals week
• middle school soccer tournaments
• club soccer tournaments
• summer futsal kicking off (which I coordinate for my son’s team)
• soccer tryout season (which is basically a second job for sports parents)
The biggest relief recently? My son walked on to a team with a coach he's already worked with and really likes for next season. HALLELUJAH!
Now we’re focused on finding the right fit for my daughter, who just finished a season where—despite being in 5th grade—she was regularly playing against 7th grade girls 😳
I’m insanely proud of her, but I’m excited to get her back into a development-focused environment with girls closer to her age and size.
Outside of sports chaos… the garden is POPPIN'! We have already harvested our first strawberries and raspberries, the grapevine has baby grapes, the squash plants are flowering, and the peppers are beginning to form. I have been enjoying arugula, kale, and cilantro from the garden while the lettuces, spinach, carrots, beets, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts continue to grow.
The most fun I've had recently? Well, I found TaeBo on YouTube and have been laughing, punching, and kicking it up a notch (see what I did there 😂) on the fitness front. 🥊 Yes, they are totally the 1999-style aerobics workouts you remember your mom doing! I guess I'm #thatmom now!
On the business side, I hired a lead generation / sales person as our newest team member. It already feels like a huge relief, and I honestly cannot believe it took me this long. I am excited to have support initiating conversations and opening doors so I can stay focused on producing excellent results for clients, creating thoughtful online events, building better connections across my network, and, yes, being more consistent with this newsletter.
With that, here is what you need this week:
🎙️ How this Financial Advisor Uses Podcasting to Attract Better, More Ideal Clients
This week on Podcasting for Financial Professionals, I interviewed James “Jimmy” Miller, founder of Baobab Wealth and host of two niche podcasts.
Jimmy is a financial advisor who has built his firm around serving expats and globally mobile families, and his podcasting strategy is a clear example other advisors can learn from and adapt.
Turning Content Into Clients
"Every time I create a piece of content, my whole goal is to create value for the person that's watching it, reading it, listening to it. And when I listen to it and I go back through it, that's the first thing I think of is like, is this giving massive value?"
- Jimmy Miller

A few takeaways worth borrowing:
- His niche is specific. Jimmy is not creating content for “anyone who needs financial advice.” He speaks directly to expats and cross-border families with specific financial planning challenges.
- His content supports real business conversations. He is not chasing vanity metrics. He is creating content that answers the questions his ideal clients are already asking, which leads to warmer, more qualified conversations.
- He stays focused on being the expert. Jimmy is the face and voice of the brand, while the editing, publishing, and repurposing are handled by others.
It took about two years before he started seeing direct ROI from content, but now prospects often arrive already familiar with his thinking and ready for deeper conversations.
If you’re a financial advisor wondering how podcasting can support attraction-based marketing, this episode gives you a strong model to study. 🎧 Watch this episode

📣 May 20th Webinar: How to Use Podcasting to Attract Premium Clients
Wondering how to ensure your podcast converts listeners into clients?
Well, there's a system behind it. And without that system in place, you're going to feel like you're not getting traction.
Inside the webinar, I will walk through how to stop podcasting into the void, how to create listener pathways that convert, how to build trust without sounding salesy, and how to connect your podcast to meaningful business growth.
On May 20th at 1pm CST, I'm hosting the last live Webinar on this topic: How to Use Podcasting to Attract Premium Clients (build systems that convert listeners into clients)
Right now, I show 10 people fully registered inside WebinarNinja.
So if you *think* you registered… go double check 😅

This will also be the last time I teach this exact topic - my summer webinars are going to be totally different - so you want to make sure you're in attendance!
If you are using your podcast to attract premium clients, or you want your show to become more than a visibility exercise, I would love to see you there.
🎉 Wait, Social Media Doesn't Have to Suck?
Since I missed last week’s newsletter, you may have missed one of the most practically useful episodes we have released recently.
We could ALL use a little help in the social media department, but...
If social media planning feels like a constant source of pressure or decision fatigue, you will want to listen to my conversation with Tracy Beavers. She explains, in one of the clearest and simplest ways I have heard, how to map out 90 days of content in just a few minutes.
Yep. Seriously - 90 days of content in just minutes
👇 Make sure you watch this one.

Put it on paper with us DURING the episode!
"I want them to set a timer, and think about: Who is my ideal client? Who do I love to work with? What did they say to me when they first met me? What did I say to them that let them know I was their answer? That I am the person who can get them what they want." - Tracy Beavers

That kind of system matters because most professionals do not need more ideas. They need a way to make their existing ideas easier to organize, publish, and repurpose.
So after you listen to Jimmy’s episode, make Tracy’s episode your next stop, especially if content creation has started to feel reactive, overwhelming, or disconnected from your actual business goals.
The solution is rarely to work harder. More often, the solution is better planning, stronger systems, and fewer decisions made in the moment. Add this episode to your "listen next" list!
🤔 Flipping the script: Highly-involved, active, and spread thin...not behind
This season of life feels full in every direction, in a REALLY GOOD way... but I do feel absolutely swamped.
Lists everywhere, not enough time to do everything on my mind (hence the lists 😅), places to go, DMs to return, etc.
BUT, I wouldn't trade any piece of it! Being at every dang event for my kids is the most exciting and rewarding thing, ever.
Hiring a freakin' amazing lead manager I couldn't have found on my own (thanks network!) is one of those "big leaps" in business that we're all afraid to take even though we know we should, and I'm ecstatic to have done so.
Loving the garden - I just smile the whole time I'm out there - no kidding.
Thriving in the chaos even though I'm sort of complaining about it and fall asleep within minutes of my head hitting the pillow 🤪 But I'm truly one of those weirdos who gets more done more efficiently when there's more to do and we're up against deadlines! Are you? We can be chaos besties.
If you're not like that, but feeling the pressure anyway, just remember:
Growth often looks like adjusting plans, hiring help, improving systems, reworking your calendar, refining your expectations, and learning how to sustain momentum ... all in an attempt to avoid burning yourself out.
That is true in life, and it is absolutely true in podcasting, business and podcasting for business!
If you have felt behind, discouraged, inconsistent, or stretched too thin, YOU ARE NOT FAILING!
One missed newsletter does mean you abandoned your subscribers. One delayed episode does not erase your authority. One busy season does not mean you are no longer committed.
As we say in Texas, "Time to get back on the horse."
When it comes to where ever you feel pressure or inconsistency, what do you need to implement, who do you need to hire, what can you delegate, how can you use AI, or what can you do differently with your time/energy to resolve that issue?
When you get/see the solution, everything changes. Go get it!
